Chris Henke for Village Trustee

Chris has served on the board of trustees since September 2020 and has developed broad experience with Village operations.   Chris is liaison to the Airport & Airpark Commission, the

DPW & Solid Waste Management, and Communications including the Village website and the Police Department.  He very much enjoys the work and would like to continue to serve a community that has been his home for the past 20 years with his wife Carolyn and daughter, graduate of HCS, who now attends college.

Chris teaches sociology and environmental studies at Colgate and emphasizes community service in his teaching and research, collaborating with local partners to improve access to locally produced food and to help Hamilton prepare for the impacts of a changing climate.  Starting in 2016, Chris has chaired the Hamilton Climate Preparedness Working Group, helping the Village of Hamilton receive certification as a New York Climate Smart Community in 2019.
